PositiveGreat location and ambiance by the harbor and walking distance to the Aquarium and Quincy Market in Boston.

Negative:  Everything from the appetizers to the entrees were disappointing.

OverallVery disappointing seafood.

Revisit:  Since this is a famous chain restaurant I may visit it again to give it another shot given how much people tend to like it.

Want to try a Seafood Chain Restaurant and enjoy it?  Don’t go here!

A friend of mine who had lived in Boston for many years suggested I try Legal Seafoods by the Boston Harbor. It’s located in a magnificent area by the water and the New England Aquarium, also walking distance from the Famous Quincy Market. We had really high expectations from this restaurant. We got a seat near their aquarium which had really unique and pretty fishes.  It really made us feel that we were in a seafood restaurant. We ordered the clam chowder, Rhode Island style calamari, fish and chips, and a special consisting of lobster with a cheesy mushroom sauce. Let me just say this restaurant was a complete DISAPPOINTMENTfrom the appetizers to the entrees.

The clam chowder was too clammy (if there is such a word) and was too clumpy. The calamari tasted okay but I felt like I was eating oil, it just did not make me feel good while I was eating it. Fish and chips-can you ever go wrong with that? The worst i’ve ever eaten. I think the fish they used was just horrible!!! The lobster was mediocre and some parts of it, like the tail (the most delicious part) did not seem to be cooked enough. The service, location, and ambiance was great but the food was a total DISASTER! Never EVER!
